Spring? Is that you?

Well folks, today was grey and nasty, but I think we've made it. Thank you for keeping us going even during the slowest, greyest months with your frequent visits, kind words, and efforts put your hard earned dollars back into the local community. Time to craft our way right into the crocuses and sunshine!

Workshops & Events

Join instructors from Folk Camp March 30th from 6-9pm at our PYSANKY WORKSHOP to learn the ancient art of Ukrainian Easter Egg decorating -- a sacred and meditative practice that will fill you with satisfaction and delight. We are going to fill the entire workshop AND boutique space with egg decorating splendour.

We've got another fantastic vintage pop-up to check out on your way to and from downtown galleries at the next #FirstFridayArtCrawl on April 6th, 6-10pm. Sandra from Statement House will return with her FABULOUS selection of vintage outfits. Come and browse, rent, buy, or just try stuff on for a fancy-as-hell mini photo shoot!

Jessica Wisniewski of Flux Glass Co. is joining us again on Saturday April 7th with some brand new designs. Come and make some adorable little plant friends and learn all the basics with this INTRO TO STAINED GLASS workshop.

In case you're looking to save some money, spruce up your favourite duds, and learn some kick ass embroidery skills, we've invited Stacey Sproule to visit from Toronto and show us the artful and highly useful technique of Japanese Sashiko, or VISIBLE MENDING

April will also bring a pre-Cinco de Mayo piñata party catered by La Hacieneda, with a rag rug workshop, modern clock painting session, and a gallery wall masterclass right around the corner in May.

New Stuff

We're soooo pleased to be hosting a collection of mini abstract paintings from local painter Harry Stooshinoff.

The ever-creative Brianna Gosselin has brought us some sweet new cards made from her original linocut designs. Come check out the rabbit, raven, and dragonfly too!

Peterborough photographer Mark L. Craighead has brought us some new nerdilicious decor with his wonderful miniature photography Star Wars prints and posters.

You may already know Jeremy Kelly of Peterborough Wood Co. for his triangle shelves, car racing, or excellent film work about town, but did you know he also makes awesome tables concrete, hairpin legs, and repurposed pallet wood? Now available in store at Watson&Lou!

And because she seemingly never stops churning out the most beautiful, fantastical, lovely things you've ever seen in your life, we have lots of lovely new decor and play things by Amber Johnson of Birchwood Fine Art.

On a practical-but-also-beautiful note, we're now selling reusable Abeille food wraps to help you reduce your plastic consumption. Delicious-smelling and antibacterial, use them to cover your bowls and veggies, then wash with cold water, air dry, and keep using them for a year or more!

In the department of delicious smells, we've added lava bead bracelets by Emily Wallace of Peterpatch Designs! Pair with some Garden City Essentials pure essential oils and you've got a personalized gift that smells amazing all day long on your wrist without pouring onto the people around you.

We'll do our best to get lots of this new stuff online soon for couch purchases too!

Thanks again and again and again for your support. We hope to be crafting and arting and helping to bolster this very special creative community for years and years to come, and we can't do it without YOU.

Happy almost spring!

Love,

Anna & Erin
