An eclectic collection of poems and short fiction collected and zine-d by Peterborough poet Justin Million.
Show and Tell Poetry Series(STPS) is (primarily) a poetry reading series, tho it’s also a banner under which we program a lot of unique or less traditional poetry programming.
Our contributing poets are almost exclusively from Peterborough and the surrounding area as a rule, tho we have hosted poets from all over the country. We traditionally bring in three writers per event to read their work, and we pride ourselves on our ability to offer English Literature students from Trent University a chance to participate in their first paid reading off-campus, thereby fostering their emergence into a wider and richer creative community.
STPS has curated events for/partnered with local organizations, institutions, and festivals such as Artsweek, Trent University, the Peterborough Arts Awards, The Theatre on King, ReFrame Film Festival, Peterborough PULSE, Book + Zine Fest, First Friday Art Crawl, Precarious Festival, Community Art Making workshops at The Mount Community Centre, META4 Gallery, and others.
The primary goal at STPS is to program compelling poetry events that showcase local (and regional) poetic talent. Our city has one of the most underrated creative writing scenes in the country, and we want to show off all of our amazing poets.
