Want to use your own two hands to make your home more cozy and vibrant and save some old sheets and fabric from the dump at the same time?
At the sink, the front door, in front of your dresser, next to the tub: traditional rag rugs are a great way to save your knees, save your resources, and make your floors cheery as heck. The best part? You can throw them in the WASHING MACHINE.
Come and learn this fantastic traditional technique with W&L co-owner Anna (accomplished apprentice of the family tradition), and get started on your own rag rug!
No experience required, but if you can thread a needle and make a few stitches, you'll be off to the races even faster. Everyone will receive a handout with take-home instructions including visuals for each step.
Sheets in a variety of colours and patterns will be provided, but you are encouraged to bring your own! All cotton works best, 50/50 cotton/poly sheets are good too. (Do plan to start with sheets as other materials and lengths can be more challenging.)
Saturday, April 27th, 1-5pm (with a snack break!)
Watson & Lou, 383 Water Street, Downtown Peterborough
Tea and snacks provided.
*Tickets are workshop-specific and non-refundable, but can be transferred to a friend in the event of unanticipated circumstances.
Please help us keep W&L free of synthetic fragrances and avoid wearing perfume or other heavily scented products. Thank you!
