Story: Nothing provokes the artistic sensibility like grief. Grief and love are two sides of the same coin and grief can only exist where love lived first. The choice of skull and the bottom flower depicts the feeling of losing someone you loved, a feeling that part of you died with your loved one. In the face of significant loss, we don’t “recover” from grief, we cope with it. In time, our feelings will revive and we slowly rejuvenate, symbolized by the top two flowers. When you lose a loved one you care so immensely about, you just aren’t the same person anymore.
